DAMAGE

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Danish Oil

    • Danish oil is a blend of penetrating oil & varnish that hardens in the wood, not on the wood. Clean only with a dry cloth or duster, do not use water.

  • Teak Oil

    • Teak oil penetrates deep into wood pores to create a rich and warm glow. Clean only with a dry cloth or duster, do not use water.

  • Tung Oil

    • Tung oil is obtained by pressing the seed from the nut of the Tung Tree. Clean with a dry cloth or duster; a damp cloth can be used if needed. Do not leave in standing water.

  • Shellac

    • Shellac is a resin secreted by the female Lac Bug that won’t darken or yellow with age. Shellac is cleaned using a damp cloth and light cleaning agents, such as ordinary dish soap. Furniture polish is acceptable, but Shellac should not be directly exposed to standing water or the finish is likely to cloud or stain.

  • Oil-Based Polyurethane

    • Oil-based polyurethane acts as a shield for your wood. It has a thick consistency that causes the finish to be softer which means items are prone to dents. The finish leaves an amber hue that will continue to darken with time. Clean with a dry cloth, duster, or damp cloth, and always use water sparingly

  • Water-Based Polyurethane

    • Water-based polyurethane also a shield for your wood. It has a thinner consistency and is harder than oil-based polyurethane but this means it is susceptible to surface scratches. The finish is clear and will not color with age. Clean with a dry cloth, duster, or damp cloth, and always use water sparingly.
