Spalted Maple Cup
This heavy-bottomed Spalted Maple cup is tall enough to be a writing utensil holder or a silverware holder for a small setting. The black lines and grey areas that appear throughout are known as Spalting and are caused by mold which is completely safe when sealed. Attention should be drawn to the crack that runs down almost the entire length of the cup, which has been reinforced, but could potentially crack if dropped. It is still a beautiful addition to any collection but because of its flaw, we are offering it at a lower rate.
